A superbly detailed written history of the GL&CC, operators of the giant Beckton Gasworks in east London and one of the largest gas companies in the south east when the industry was Nationalised in 1949.

They were also in right at the very beginnings of the gas supply industry in London in the early 19th century. One of the standard works of reference on the Gas Industry.
